Angular Distribution and CP Asymmetries in the Decays B̄ →
The short-distance Hamiltonian describing b → s(d)e−e+ in the standard model is used to obtain the decay spectrum of B̄ → K−π+e−e+ and B̄ → π−π+e−e+, assuming the Kπ and ππ systems to be the decay products of K∗ and ρ respectively. Specific features calculated are (i) angular distribution of K− (or π−) in the K−π+ (or π−π+) centre-of-mass (c.m.) frame; (ii) angular ∗E-mail address: krueger@gtae3....
متن کاملCP Violation in Hadronic τ Decays
We examine CP violation in the ∆S = 0 decays τ → ωπντ and τ → a1πντ and the ∆S = 1 decay τ → Kππντ . We assume that the new physics is a charged Higgs. We show that sizeable CP-violating effects are possible in τ → a1πντ (polarization-dependent rate asymmetry) and τ → ωπντ (triple-product asymmetry). The ∆S = 1 decay τ → Kππντ can proceed via several resonances. We construct two modified rate a...
متن کاملCp Asymmetry in Majorana Neutrino Decays
We study CP asymmetries in lepton-number violating two-body scattering processes and show how they are related to CP asymmetries in the decays of the intermediate massive Majorana neutrinos. We demonstrate that self-energy corrections do not contribute to CP asymmetries in leading order. Decays of heavy Majorana neutrinos may be responsible for most of the cosmological baryon asymmetry [1]. As ...
متن کاملCP sensitive asymmetry in the three – body decay t̃ 1 → bν̃ τ τ +
A CP sensitive asymmetry in the three–body decay˜t 1 → b˜ν τ τ + Abstract We consider the three–body decay˜t1 → b˜ντ τ + and propose the asymmetry of the τ polarization perpendicular to the decay plane as a CP sensitive observable. We calculate this asymmetry in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with the parameters µ and At complex. In the parameter domain where the decay˜t1 → b˜ντ τ + ...
متن کاملBounds on the CP Asymmetry in b → sγ Decays
We have measured the CP asymmetry ACP ≡ (Γ(b → sγ) − Γ(b̄ → s̄γ))/(Γ(b → sγ) + Γ(b̄ → s̄γ)) to be ACP = (−0.079 ± 0.108 ± 0.022)(1.0 ± 0.030), implying that, at 90% confidence level, ACP lies between –0.27 and +0.10. These limits rule out some extreme non-Standard-Model predictions, but are consistent with most, as well as with the Standard Model.
